The success fee

We charge 50% of what traditional recruiters take

Recruitment agencies typically charge 15–25% of a hire's first-year salary, around a 20% benchmark. CruiseJobs charges half that, paid only when your new crew member actually starts. No retainers, no upfront cost, no fee if it doesn't work out.

Crew never pay, by design

Under the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC 2006), seafarers must not be charged for finding work. CruiseJobs is fully employer-funded: cruise lines and manning agencies pay the success fee, and crew use the platform free, always.

Pricing questions

Is it really free to post jobs and create a profile?

Yes. Posting vacancies, searching crew, building a profile, taking courses and applying are all free. The only charge is a success fee a cruise line pays after a hire starts.

How is the success fee calculated?

It's a percentage of the hire's first-year salary, charged once when they start: 6% for entry-level crew, 10% for skilled and supervisory roles, and 12.5% for officers and management, always half the typical agency rate.

What if the hire doesn't work out?

The fee only applies once a crew member starts their contract, and it comes with a replacement guarantee. If they leave within the guarantee window, we find a replacement at no extra placement fee.

Do crew ever pay anything?

Never. In line with MLC 2006, crew are never charged a placement fee. Optional paid training certificates may exist, but finding and applying to work is always free.
